A Barn Conversation

Shiloh: I can't believe it! The "big day" was in May and it's still April! What do you think Bethany?

Bethany: I agree! Good thing I saw that when I did... otherwise, the results could have been disastrous!

Shiloh: I was sad that we missed "it"! I really was looking forward to that event in May!

Bethany: Right... but at least everything went smoothly. Oh, she's just so good about things like that!

Shiloh: Now I was expecting a few boys, but I'm glad we did get a girl--she's beautiful!! I'm now looking forward to what we get to do in May... Any comments, Bethany?

Bethany: No kidding! (Oops! Did I just say that?) Oh, yes! Just thinking about May makes me thirsty!

Have you guessed what happened here yet from our "Barn Conversation"? Yes! You're right! No kidding... We've got kids! Windy kidded two adorable little kids today--one buck and one doe. We were all taken by surprise because we thought her due date was May 17th! The kids are healthy and doing well! As to the due date... May 17th... well we are looking forward to milk and lots of it too!! Enjoy the very first pictures!

Windy says "hello" to her twins

The Buck... Isn't cute? He's all buck too--you can see it in his face!

The little girl... she's perfectly pretty!

EFF Farm Update: Goat Milk!

Today we started milking our goats!! As many of you already know our goat, Fiddle kidded in March (here, here, or here). We are now milking her each morning and she is giving a great amount for starting out... We are looking forward to when she hits her peak. I also milked Windy this morning as her udder bag is starting to fill up. She gave tiny bit of colostrum and will be kidding in May. I think that she will give a lot of milk once we start milking her full time.

Bethany and I are working on a good schedule for milking as we are milking before breakfast and we also complete a few school subjects before that time too... We are hoping to get our dear sister, De-De and wake her up *extra* early to take pictures of the whole milking process soon! So, we hope to post pictures very soon. For now you'll just have to take a peek at last year's milking post. Right now I think I'll go look at our fresh Goat Milk and dream about homemade: yogurt, cheese, and fresh milk... Yum!

Until Then,

Bethany Performs "The Bach Double"

For quite a few months now, I have been working on J.S. Bach's, Concerto For 2 Violins in D Minor. It's been a lot of work and but a lot of fun too! I finally finished it though, and was able to perform it with Jordan and my teacher, Elizabeth Knopp. (You may remember that last December I did a recital of the First Movement... but this is the whole thing!) Over all, the performance was great and we all had a wonderful time!

Please sit back and enjoy these pictures!

--------------------------

All EIGHT pages of the piece!

The guests arrive!

Jordan and I waiting for everyone to be seated...

Okay, everyone is ready! Time to start!

My teacher Elizabeth, introduces the piece.

Sharing the last minute advice of... "Please don't go to fast!" (Yes, that was for me! :) )
Taken "from the top".
Jordan was a great accompanist! "Thanks, you did a wonderful job!" The audience who was so kind to come and listen! (And so that I wouldn't have to play for an empty room!)

I LOVE this picture! Although I don't remember what we were laughing about!
Jordan, Me, and Elizabeth.

The Mothers.

(L-R) Mrs. K., Mommy, Mrs. A. and Mrs. J.

And ALL the girls!!! :)

(L-R) Eden, Me (Bethany), Kathrina, Krista, Janna, Elizabeth, Shiloh, Bethany, Jaime Lyn.

----------------------

Afterwards, we had some time to fellowship!

The girls talking (of course!) in the barn. (Jordan actually took this picture from under the barn door!)

Oh, and of course their were refreshments too! (Can't go wrong with brownies, can you?!)

And again... the girls are talking.

Kathrina and I were able to play some songs together. We had a great time!

We also did some Irish Dancing. (Which the Bisceglia's were so kind to walk us through... step by step!)

-------------------------------

And here's the movie. The ENTIRE concerto! Enjoy!

------------------------

Special thanks to:

"The audience for coming

My family for listening to me practice

My teacher for being such a wonderful teacher

My brother for being a great accompanist

And to Jesus for giving me the talent and grace to do this!"

My "Littlest" Brother... :)

My little brother recently informed me that I have “Tiger Teeth” and to top that off I also have a “Tiger Tongue”! Quite impressive!! Now whenever he’d like to see my tongue/teeth (don’t ask my why—maybe he plans to be a dentist) he asks to see my “Tiger Teeth” or my “Tiger Tongue”. Since I am the one and only big Sister with the Tiger Mouth… we simply had to come up with a name for his mouth… So, now Judah has “Bear Teeth” and a “Bear Tongue”. Once again- quite impressive! What kind of teeth do you have??

Today, I put my little brother down to bed. As I was praying with him he started laughing a little. I stopped praying and asked, “Why are you laughing?” He answered, “I laughing at oo. OO are o unny (you are so funny).” Well, I am quite flattered with this compliment! So, we finished up our joyful prayer by praying that he (Judah) would be cheerful when he wakes up!

What about you? Do the little ones in your family have anything funny and cute to say at times?

I'm so thankful the Lord has given me such an adorable little fellow to be my "littlest" brother!

Little Brothers... Gotta Love Them!! :)

Irish Ceili Dancing!

Last week we had the time of our lives! We went Irish Ceili (pronounced "kay-lee") Dancing with our friends the Bisceglia family. It was so much fun! Please enjoy the pictures and watch the movie!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
First we started out with a quick lesson to ALL the steps!
The Ceili Swing!
Jordan talking with Noah.
The dance floor is all ready!
Eden... and what perhaps are you doing in this picture?!
Kathrina and I talking. (By the look on my face, we must have been having a very heated conversation! Well, maybe not!)
Jordan watching and getting ready to dance.
Judah enjoyed it as well!
Judah, Mommy, and Mrs. Bisceglia.
Judah... waiting his turn to dance! :)
And the dancing begins!
Here Shiloh and I join the circle.
Everything is a blur of color as Jordan and I twirl across the floor!
(Special Thanks to Shiloh for putting this movie together and Mommy and Jordan for filming it!)
Well, that's all for today!
Thank you Biscegila's for inviting us! We had a great time!
And just for the sake of it:
"To market, to market, to buy a fat pig.
Home again, home again, jiggity jig!"
Happy Resurrection Day!
At The Cross
Verse 1: Alas! and did my Savior bleed
And did my Sovereign die?
Would He devote that sacred head
For such a worm as I?
Verse 2: Thy body slain, sweet Jesus, Thine—
And bathed in its own blood—
While the firm mark of wrath divine,
His Soul in anguish stood.
Verse 3: Was it for crimes that I had done
He groaned upon the tree?
Amazing pity! grace unknown!
And love beyond degree!
Verse 4: Well might the sun in darkness hide
And shut his glories in,
When Christ, the mighty Maker died,
For man the creature’s sin.
Verse 5: Thus might I hide my blushing face
While His dear cross appears,
Dissolve my heart in thankfulness,
And melt my eyes to tears.
Verse 6: But drops of grief can ne’er repay
The debt of love I owe:
Here, Lord, I give my self away
’Tis all that I can do.
Refrain:
At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away,
It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!
