Snowbirds?

If you remember this post, I mentioned that our severe case of Cabin Fever messed with our brains and caused us to do all sorts of crazy things like taking lots of random pictures, hosting our personal Winter Olympics, and even take a Barefoot Snow Sprint.  Right, I guess we really have difficulty coping with a very untimely snowstorm that left us snowed in and cutoff from the outside world.

But thankfully it is only a memory now!

Now, don't get me wrong... I really do think snow is beautiful and fun, but when you live in a place where your electricity and water will go out at the slightest change in the weather, you start to reevaluate your priorities.

Snow... or... Electricity and Water?

Electricity and Water wins every time.

Anyway, snow does make a lovely photoshoot location, so we took advantage of that possibility!

Mommy and Daddy exploring our property's "new look".

Hm, writing in the snow like this must be how Eskimos right letters to each other.
No, that wouldn't work so well because by the next snowstorm--okay, forget that.

 This is how Californians live.

Hey, we are smiling!

Snow showers!
Mahalo Nui Loa!!!

And then we had some fun...

 Surf's up!

Taking a break before catching the next wave...

With a stunning background, we waiting for the snow to stop before running out with our interments to take a few snaps (no, I do not normally bring my violin out into those temperatures, but I made sure we worked fast!).

Shiloh brought her harp out for some nice shots.

I guess this is how harpists workout!  ;)

Then Jordan decided it might be fun to photobomb...

...And he did have a little fun.

That is, until...
Guys, don't mess with this girl!  It won't be pretty.

Well, the snow melting quite a few days ago and life has gone back to our busy normal.  However, I will admit that despite the fact that we did have a power outage and missed the conference Jordan and I were playing music at, I did enjoy experiencing God's amazing and gorgeous creation.  Each little snowflake is different and a testimony to His incredible design.
It is rather interesting, when the Bible mentions snow, sometimes it is in the context of Salvation.  When we are cleansed and forgiven from our filthy sins, the blood of Jesus Christ washing us and makes us pure and clean... just like snow.
"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
~Isaiah 1:18
"Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow"
~Psalm 51:7

Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

Yes, it's Valentines Day once again!!

Hey, it's Valentines Day once again!!  We simply could not pass on our wonderful tradition!  Already one of Jordan's sisters reminded him two days before Valentines to be prepared with his cards...  back in 2009 we made him some instructions...  maybe someday they'll come in even more handy then making your sisters' cards. ;-)

-

2013: It's a tradition.  You've probably seen this post before, but alas!  We've got to keep this tradition going!  We, Jordan's dear sisters are once again posting these lovely directions for him as we prepare him for his future wife. ;-)

-

2009: What a blessing to have three sweet sisters to teach you how to make valentines. Here is the "Valentine Making Tutorial" that the girls made for Jordan since he would rather take care of chickens than make them valentines! Note that his Mother gets a lovely Valentine from him each and every year!
Happy Valentine's Day!
Click on the computer drawing to see the instructions up close!

Through the years:
  • 2009
  • 2010
  • 2011
  • 2012 - we missed!  How did we do that?  Don't worry, we verbally reminded him! :D
  • 2013
  • 2014- you are currently reading this post!!

2014 Winter (Sorta) Olympics

Since we have been snowed in over the weekend and missed the conference some of us were playing music at, we have been getting creative with all this snow play.  We took some fantastic and hilarious pictures that we will be sure to share with you all soon... but in the meantime, have a peek at our 2014 Winter (Sorta) Olympics with your host: Bethany!

And since we still have to be training for the 2016 Summer (Sorta) Olympics...
Shiloh, Eden, and I take a Barefoot Snow Sprint!

Shiloh in the dark, Eden in red, and Me in the white.

Because of the snow, we had one power outage and are praying that that was the only one!  After today, temperatures should go up and life will go back to normal.

And keep an eye out for those pictures--you won't want to miss them!

I'm dreaming of a white....

February??  :-)

He Is My Defense

In my opinion, Marty Goetz is one of the best Christian musicians of our day.  Years ago I heard him play live and also got to meet him.  That was an amazing experience!

I love this song, "He Is My Defense" and we just learned this worship dance at church last week.  When we praise the Lord through dance, worship takes on a whole new meaning... it is amazing!!!

"He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved."
~Psalm 62:2
